In our 2nd annual State of ER and Specialty Veterinary Care report, we surveyed 545 emergency and specialty veterinary professionals to better understand how they’re navigating challenges and opportunities this year.
Here’s a peek at some of the year-over-year shifts and trends shaping our industry.
- * 59% of practices reported about the same or lower volume as last year. This may signal a reduction in the high demand levels observed during the peak of COVID.
- * 54% of ER and specialty staff reported high or very high morale, up from 34% last year.
- * Turnover remains high, particularly among veterinary technicians and nurses, with 79% of practices experiencing turnover for these roles.
